ECB Meeting Dates 2027: The 8 Monetary Policy Decisions
The European Central Bank holds eight monetary policy meetings in 2027. At each one it publishes its interest rate decision at 14:15 Frankfurt time, usually 8:15 a.m. in New York, and the ECB’s President explains it at a press conference half an hour later.

What to watch at each meeting
- The three key rates: the deposit facility rate, the market’s reference, the main refinancing operations rate and the marginal lending facility rate.
- The tone of the press conference: what the President says about the next meetings often moves the euro more than the decision itself.
- In March, June, September and December, the inflation and growth projections.
How it affects your trading
Euro pairs (EURUSD, EURGBP, EURJPY) and European indices such as the DAX tend to move sharply at the decision and during the press conference. If you trade those minutes, size the position with the wider stop you will use in the lot size calculator. If you also trade the Fed, its dates are in the FOMC calendar 2027.
Example: EUR/USD position size on ECB day
If you usually trade EUR/USD with a 15-pip stop on a $10,000 account, risking 1% ($100) gives you 0.66 lots. Around the ECB press conference price can run through that stop in seconds, so many traders widen it, for example to 30 pips. The risk must stay at $100: the size drops to 0.33 lots.
