Not every funded account gives you the same room. We ranked 30 programs from 10 firms by what really decides whether you pass or fail: how much you can lose in total, how much in a day, and whether the limit is static or rises with your balance. No prices or promotions, which change every week.

Futures prop firms: maximum loss on a 50K account

In futures, limits are set in dollars and almost all are trailing, so how far the floor can rise matters as much as the figure.

How to read the ranking

  • A wider maximum loss lets you ride out more losing streaks, but the profit target usually grows with it.
  • The daily loss is the rule that fails the most accounts: with 4% or 5% a day, risking 1% per trade leaves room for several losses in a row.
  • Check how each limit is measured (balance or equity, when it resets): it is on each firm’s page.

To compare them at your account size, use the prop firm comparison, and to see how much you can lose today, the prop firm limits calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Which forex prop firm has the widest maximum loss?

Among the firms we compare, FundingPips (2 Step Flex) lets you lose up to 12% of the account, with a static maximum loss. With a static drawdown the floor never rises as you make money, which makes it the easiest to manage.

Is a static or a trailing drawdown better?

Static, for most traders: the floor stays where it is. With a trailing drawdown the floor rises with your highest balance, so every profit you give back brings you closer to the limit.

Are there prop firms with no daily loss limit?

Yes, in futures: Apex Trader Funding (Intraday Evaluation), Tradeify (Select) have no daily limit on the account we compare, only the maximum loss.

How often are these rules checked?

Each firm was checked on its official website on September 27, 2026. Prop firms change their rules often: always confirm them before buying a challenge.
