Forex Market Hours and Daylight Saving 2026-2027: When Each Session Opens
The currency market opens on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. New York time and does not close until Friday at the same time, but volume clusters in four sessions. This fall, Europe and the US change their clocks a week apart, and for those days the sessions fall out of step.

Customary hours of each centre in its local time; there is no official schedule and sources differ by an hour. Japan does not observe daylight saving.

The out-of-step weeks
Europe changes its clocks on the last Sunday of March and October; the US on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November. In between, London and New York are four hours apart instead of five, and everything scheduled in New York lands an hour earlier for Europe:
- October 25-31, 2026
- March 14-27, 2027
- October 31 - November 6, 2027
